There is no one-stop-shop for finding quality talent. You must employ a variety of methods for finding talent in order to attract the brightest and best to your team.
Where to look for candidates
2. Job Boards
Publish job postings on the most popular job boards, such as Indeed, Craigslist, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Monster. Job postings range from $25-$300 per position in most areas.
NOTE: It is detrimental to your company’s ranking and visibility on most jobs sites to post more than four positions. That’s why we recommend posting just the following four: Account Manager, Customer Care Representative, Marketing Associate, and Sales & Marketing Intern.
It is vital to include pictures with your job postings. Prospective applicants are more easily endeared to and intrigued by companies with visuals displaying their culture and work environment.
All ads should link back to your 810 Build site’s Application Form to get their resumes in your pipeline.
3. Team and Community
Great candidates can come from your own people! Often, your own team members know talented professionals looking for a new opportunity.
It is key to make sure you are asking your team members for referrals. More often than not, they have a friend, family member, or even someone they’ve met in the local community who has the potential to be a superstar on your team.
Even more important is making sure that you have an incentive program to incentivize your team members to give you referrals. Incentives can include a cash reward, a special lunch, a gas card, a small gift, etc.
Another great avenue is to develop relationships with the people in your area. You could find your next best hire at a restaurant you frequent or a community club you participate in. Constantly be on the lookout to recruit people you interact with that standout and impress you with their demeanor and work ethic.
4. Career Fairs & College Campuses
Check your local events for career fairs near you. Contact the fair to see how you can get a display booth and make sure you are set up to impress and begin the onboarding process right at the fair.
You can also reach out to local colleges and universities for students that are looking for internships and/or are just about to graduate. Colleges often host their own career fairs on campus, so make sure you are connected to them.

1. Social Media
Developing your company’s digital brand
Use Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to advertise your open positions. Effective ad budgets range from $10-$25 per day. To maximize effectiveness, understand your target demographic and the geographic areas you are seeking to reach on Facebook and Instagram. Weekly posts on your Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are highly recommended, spotlighting open positions with a link to your recruiting website.
Social media gives you the added benefit of visually demonstrating your firm’s culture and what it’s like to be a contributing member of your local community.
NOTE: Facebook is one of the most inexpensive platforms to run ads on.
